Das Konstanzer Jahrhundert-Hochwasser 1999! This is the wettest page in the whole internet! Sensational photographs of the Konstanz Millennium Flood, taken in the week after Whitsuntide! In May 1999 there was a lot of rain over the Lake Constance AND the snow in the mountains was melting. Those two factors caused the flood. Nowadays you can see a lot of water and a lot of sandbags. Many farmers on the Isle of Reichenau lost their harvest, specially the cucumbers. Some Rock Bands lost all their equipment, because the water came into their rehearse room in a cellar. Carpe diem! The highest level was on Whitsuntide: 5,65 m ![]() Constance industrial district (photo by Knut B.) Please click on the thumbnails to get a big photo
